ThemeResonant Tunneling Diode Array Oscillator Integrated With Slot-ring Antenna For Terahertz Wireless Communications

The resonant tunneling diode is a promising candidate as a low-cost and compact electronic device for terahertz wireless communications. This study proposes an oscillator configuration by integrating two resonant tunneling diodes on a single slot-ring antenna for terahertz communications. A coherent oscillation is experimentally demonstrated at 354 GHz, and the results indicate that 25-Gbit/s error-free wireless communication was achieved using the oscillator as a transmitter.
